Papa and August shared breakfast this morning while Jon, Jas and Chloe got ready for their early morning Vatican tour!
August supervised while Papa tried to figure out what was wrong with our washer and dryer, (Blown fuse!)
This guy was clearly ready for yet another day of posing for pictures!
The three of us got to spend a leisurely morning, but soon we were ready to head out and take a ride on the METRO! (“Thanks, Unca Jon Jon for my cool Formula One shirt!”)
I spotted my dream car on our walk this morning! I have been having wonderful flashbacks of driving my very own Smart car for several years (after falling in love with them in Europe!). Perhaps some day I’ll have one of these — a girl can dream, right?)
We made it to an awesome park, (Google found it for us), with a playground that had lots of things for August to do! He was in Heaven, to say the least!
When he had ridden every ride, gone down every slide, swung in each swing, climbed every structure and “August playing music” on every instrument, (about forty times each), he was ready to go explore the park!

And, lo and behold, we ended up right next to the Colosseum! We grabbed a table at a cafe across the street, shared a Margherita pizza, and enjoyed the street music! While John and I sat in awe of the Colosseum, August much preferred the buses and trams and trucks that drove by! I mean, gosh, wasn’t that the coolest “big green bus” you have ever seen?
We actually got to ride on one of those BUSES! The day just got better and better!
And then a TRAM! We got to ride a TRAM!
Needless to say, August sat in awe of it all!
We all arrived back at the condo and Jon, Jas and Chloe shared photos of their tour. (After a nap, that is!)
When everyone was refreshed, we got to ride the METRO again to our dinner destination —Il Vero Alfredo! Patte, Mike, John and I had dinner there two years ago and it was well worth a repeat! It is where Fettuccine Alfredo was born!
The musician was absolutely delightful — August loved him and his music! He danced all night long and had us all in stitches — including the entertainer!
We began our long walk and bus ride home, as the Metro had already closed! Jon and Jas navigated the bus system like experts!
It doesn’t get much better than this!! 🥰🥰🥰
What a perfect day and beautiful evening to finish with… perfecto! 🤩
