Can you say ROAD TRIP? We decided last night that we would rent a car and travel back to Alberobello (we decided that Matt and Val just HAD to see the Trulli!) then on to Monopoli, and Polignano a Mare! Oh, what a day!
We arrived back in Alberobello and the sky was blue and the town was packed full of people!
We knew the Trulli would look so cool with a brilliant blue backdrop (instead of RAIN!)! It was, indeed, wonderful!
Our second stop of the day was Monopoli, a coastal town that was recommended to visit. We grabbed a quick lunch and …
…saw a few sights, and off we drove to Polignano a Mare, another coastal town and home of our special dinner destination.
Polignano a Mare was beautiful. The water and the cliffs were breathtaking!
If you look closely at the next photo, you will see where we had reservations for dinner! Can you see the tables?
The beach we saw was nothing compared to the beaches on AMI. However, the locals were loving it, cold water, rocky beach and all!
Finally, it was time to head to the
Grotta Palazzese for dinner! We were sooo excited!
The four of us immediately determined that we had the best seats in the house! The setting was absolutely spectacular!
And the food was divine! (These are only several of the courses we enjoyed!)
Oh, what a day! Oh, what a night!
Even the bathrooms were something else!
Dinner at Grotta Palazzese was certainly memorable! Driving around Italy all day was certainly memorable! The entire day was certainly memorable!
