ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END!

Sadly, it was the last morning in Rome to wake up to this little guy saying, “Hi DiDi, Hi Papa!”

Jon, Jason, Chloe and August’s bags were packed and they were ready to go…when Jon found out his flight to Newark was cancelled!

They left on a taxi (August’s first!) to head to the airport—Jas, Chloe and August for their early flight, and Jonathan to (fingers crossed) get rescheduled on another flight!  What a wonderful week we got to share with them!

Jonathan spent a good part of the day trying to work with gate agents to find a new flight back to the States.  He finally received a boarding pass on a flight that was getting ready to leave.  He ran all the way to the gate, but the door had already closed.  FRUSTRATION!!’

John jumped on the train to head to the airport to see if he could be of any assistance, when Jon texted that he had a ticket on a flight leaving at around 3:00PM.  When John arrived, they literally had time for a hug and Jon was off!

John arrived back at the condo just in time to head out to corner cafe right outside our door for dinner!  AHHHH!!!!

We walked around for a bit, grabbed a small gelato, and got home to a text from Jas saying they had arrived in New York, 

and a Facebook Messenger call from Jon, who had just checked into a hotel in Frankfurt for the night!!!

All is well!  Have I mentioned that it is REALLY quiet here in Rome?
