After our tour of Auschwitz yesterday, John and I ventured back to Old Town and took a golf cart tour of the Jewish Quarter. We were greeted by Yiddish music playing on the street corner!
Our tour guide was a young local guy, who spoke fairly good English. He loved telling jokes…and then had to explain them to us! (Can you say, “Lost in translation?”)
When our tour ended, we were dropped back off in Old Town. We spotted this cathedral where a concert would take place this evening.
We decided to wait until Warsaw to take in a cathedral concert! We had dinner right in the main square and it was, (as all the food here has been), delicious! After Auschwitz, it was nice being around people enjoying their evening in Krakow!
We went to bed early (even for us!) and slept for twelve hours! We woke up and went, once again, to Old Town for breakfast before heading to the train station! We were Warsaw bound!
But first, we stopped at a corner stand and purchased an Obwarzanek Krakowski, a local braided, ring shaped bread. (Sorry, Jill—not a keiflie to be found in this town!)
We boarded our train, found our first class seats (in a cabin with a nice, fresh smelling couple) and discovered there was no WiFi or charging plugs! (Say WHAT?)
