John and I woke up to our last morning in our beloved Rome (in our way to quiet condo!). We had a 10:00AM train ride scheduled across Italy to Bari!
It was actually sprinkling quite hard on our seven minute walk to the station! (Luckily, we enjoyed the BEST weather EVER the entire week were here!) And, yes, I was quite a ways behind Dieds, as I had to stop here and there to take the obligatory photograph! 🤪
Let’s just say the train station was packed to the gills when we arrived!
We boarded the FULL train, found our seats, got comfortable and THIS was sitting across from us. OMG! We couldn’t believe it! We spent two hours trying to ignore him, TO NO AVAIL! Finally, when I couldn’t take the loud, non-stop talking any more, I actually got his attention and shushed him! He lowered his voice for the remainder of that call, but then raised it once again for the next one!
We grumbled, we sighed, we rolled our eyes, and we stuck our fingers in our ears…nothing helped! I shushed him again, and he finally left. Luckily, he never came back to his seat! Needless to say, John and I were THRILLED (as was everyone else sitting around us!).
We arrived in Bari and began the short jaunt to our Airbnb, when it started to pour down rain! We ducked into the nearest cafe and were we glad we did! They offered the most amazing poke bowls for lunch and a nice, dry table to sit! What more could we ask for?
This is what greeted us when we arrived at our cute little Airbnb!
After we had unpacked a little, we set out to explore a bit of Bari! We walked to the water (a block from our condo) and took it all in! Our fingers are crossed for sunshine tomorrow when we really dive in to see what Bari has to offer!
After grabbing some groceries for the week, we found a cute little Scottish Pub, where we grabbed a quick dinner and some delicious brewskies! (Missing you, Susan and Tim!)
