The four of us were SO EXCITED this morning, because we got our very own cabin on the train to Prague—with two seats to spare!
And then, the WORST POSSIBLE THING HAPPENED…the door opened and a mother/daughter duo entered our cabin with the WORST BODY ODOR known to mankind!

Luckily, I had a tube of great smelling hand lotion (thank you, Inis) in my purse and I kept rubbing some on my hands and holding them close to my nose. I’m happy to report, we all survived—but barely! Italian showers are a real thing here in Europe! πππ
After we checked into our boutique hotel, we walked toward the center of town. The first thing we saw was a statue of a man flying like Mary Poppins, umbrella and all! Apparently, there is a series of these throughout the city, called “Slight Uncertainty” and they represent the feelings of the people during the depression.
We made it to the Vitava River and were in awe of all the beautiful buildings and statues! It was another gorgeous, sunny day and it seemed like everyone was out enjoying it! (Doesn’t anyone work around here?)
We crossed the infamous
Charles Bridge when the wind started picking up and the black clouds started rolling in! It looked and felt like a huge thunderstorm was close!
We found a cute restaurant that served authentic Czech cuisine and, once again, we loved every single bite!
We were lucky (and very surprised) that the storm never came! We dodged some sprinkles here and there after dinner, but it was no big deal! Prague’s
Old Town was an architectural gem and we LOVED it!
John and Val enjoyed their
Trdlnuks, a pastry found on about every street corner!
Two Gothic towers of the
Church of our Lady Before Tyn at Old Town Square could be seen from almost everywhere in the city! It was amazing to see!
We read about the
Prague Astronomical Clock, however, we found it after it had just gone through its hourly routine. We’re hoping to go back tomorrow, as we are all eager to see what happens! (We’ll keep you posted!)
We loved the overall feel of Prague! The people, the buildings, the food…so far so good!
We’re all looking forward to seeing more of this beautiful city tomorrow! But for now—Dobrou Noc!
