We made it to Rome and back into the arms of this guy!!!! (Oh, and Jason’s and Chloe’s and, finally, Jon’s as well!). Here August is riding his first metro (which was packed full)! Loved how he reached out and held onto the railing just like the rest of us!
He stayed awake as long as he could, but then crashed for a moment or two!
We went to the Vatican to try to find out where we were to pick up our tickets to see Papa Francisco on Sunday. The first time John and I came to Rome, we spent hours trying to find the “big bronze doors” where we were told we could get our tickets. We had no luck and had to sneak our way into St. Peter’s Square! This time we’ll be legit!!! (John is one happy camper!). On a side note, we heard the Pope has not been feeling well—time will tell!
It’s just impossible to describe how it feels to be smack dab in the middle of St. Peter’s Square right in front of St. Peter’s Basilica! Even August thought is was AMAZING!
Back at our Airbnb, Papa and August got in some well earned relaxation time! This kid is just too much! It’s going to be a fun-filled family kind of week!!!
Yay!!!! The Diedam’s are intact!!! Fun to see some familiar pictures! Have a blast!
