EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND!

Woke up in our charming Airbnb, looking forward to our day in Edinburgh!  John and Tim diligently planned out our agenda.

Here’s what the outside of our condo looks like—they line the entire street!

When we asked the boys, “What’s first on our list to see this morning?” they instantly did this….

Apparently they had spent the morning talking hardware instead of researching sights to see!  Can you even imagine? ๐Ÿ˜‚. It was decided to jump on a bus tour to get views from all around the city.

Edinburgh is so old, and is filled with amazing old buildings everywhere.  It has a totally different feel than anyplace we visited in Ireland.  We can’t decide what the architecture is—Medieval?  Gothic?  Even Google didn’t know!

We knew we were in Scotland when we saw our first man walking the streets dressed in a kilt!

The Edinburgh Castle is the main attraction in Edinburgh.  It sits high above the city on an ancient volcano.  After our bus tour ended, we got off; ate lunch; and began the long walk up to the castle!

We purchased audio guides and proceeded on our tour!

Every part of the castle was magnificent!  The buildings were beautiful,

the views were spectacular,

and the boys in kilts weren’t bad either!

After we had covered every inch of the Edinburgh Castle, John and Tim were rewarded with a sampling of a new drink called Magnum Scotch Malt Whisky Cream Liqueur.  (It is currently only sold in the States in Nashville, TN). They loved it so much, they purchased two small bottles to share this evening!

Oops, apparently we missed seeing one part of the castle—the cemetery for soldier’s dogs.  Good catch, Susan!  Very sweet!

We proceeded to join the swarm of people walking the streets.  It was an amazing area to walk around.

We meandered around most of the Royal Mile;

sat in a quaint Scottish Bar, drinking brewskies and eating haggis;

and finally took a taxi to dinner, where we ate too much and drank too much and had an amazing time!

Back at the ranch, we quickly jammied up and shared an evening toast to yet another great day!
Sliante!
