ST. ANDREWS GOLF CLUB!

It seems we got to experience something today that not a lot of people have—a warm, sunny day at St. Andrews!  We enjoyed blue skies and lots and lots of sunshine!  Our first stop of the morning was the World Golf Museum.  Luckily, we could all walk to it from our Airbnb!  (Thanks, John, once again you chose wisely!)

Have I mentioned that Tim was in his Happy Place here at St. Andrews?

We thought of our dear friend, Mel, every time we saw a Ben Hogan piece of memorabilia!

The museum was really well done—it was interactive, with lots to see and do!  We enjoyed every minute of it!

You sure don’t see this very often (if ever)—a DOG on the golf course!  Perhaps he was a trained caddy?  Needless to say, he was very well behaved and we LOVED seeing him out there!  It would be interesting to hear his story!

This was a magical moment for all of us, but especially for Tim!!!  We crossed the fairway to get our photos taken on the infamous Swilcan Bridge!

We ate lunch at the Jigger Inn and were able to sit outside (thank you, sunshine!) and watch the golfers play!

The smile on Tim’s face seemed to get bigger and bigger!

It was a brief walk to St. Andrews West Sands, located on the eastern coastline of the Kingdom of Fife.  “Famous for the opening scenes of the film, Chariots of Fire, West Sands extends for almost two miles of uninterrupted sand backed with dunes and the world renowned golf course.”  It was low tide when we arrived, so it was a long walk to the water.  The wind was blowing like crazy, and yet, there were young ladies SWIMMING!  OH MY GOODNESS!!!

We went in search of pieces of sea glass, however, there were none to be found!  (We tried, Karen!)

Back at the course, we sat and watched more golfers play.  There’s just something so cool about being at St. Andrew’s!  Oh, what a day!

We shared an exceptionally great dinner, in town, at a place called Rogue.  The guys ordered steaks, while Susan and I enjoyed cauliflower steaks with vegetables!  We were all quite pleased with our choices, and it was the first time we didn’t get chips on the side!

We had a fun-filled day today and were we ever pooped!  On our walk back from dinner, we saw this sign and were quite certain that it had been erected just for us!!! 🤣🤣🤣  It was the  perfect ending to a perfect day!
