DUBLIN, IRELAND: DAY THREE!

John and I were up at the crack of dawn this morning, excited for our liquor-filled day! 🤪

First, the tour of Guinness (so happy I FINALLY acquired a taste for it)!  It was certainly BRISK this morning (at least for me!) as we waited outside for our 10:45 tour time—we were not alone!

But once we got inside, everything turned much warmer!  The Guinness facility was AMAZING!

We took the self guided tour, which was perfect, as we could spend as much or as little time as we needed in different areas.  We were awarded a filled-to-the brim pint of Guinness (Susan and I opted for a lighter beer as we hadn’t eaten anything) and enjoyed it at the Gravity Bar atop Guinness.  The panoramic views were wonderful!  We were starving (so starving that we forgot to take any panoramic photos! 😳) and found out we could sip our beers while having lunch at a cafe downstairs! It was PERFECT!

Back out on the street, we hailed an Uber-Taxi and headed to the Jameson Distillery.  This WAS NOT our Uber, however, wouldn’t that have been cool?

The Jameson Distillery—what a beautiful piece of architecture!

The tasting was really good—and that’s coming from a non-whiskey lover.  I might just be acquiring a taste for it too.  Uh oh. 😳  Our guide, Niles, was a total riot and made the tour a lot of fun—and we could actually understand him!

We had reservations at a restaurant called Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill.  The food was divine!  Steaks were ordered all around, except I ordered the salmon, which was divine!  Funny, but here in Dublin, chips (er, rather French fries) are served with steaks!  John and I have enjoyed pate several times now—always a treat!  This restaurant called it “parfait” and was it ever yummy!

The pubs were filled to the brim with people and laughter as we walked back to our Airbnb!  Another great day in Irish paradise!
