DUBLIN, IRELAND:DAY FOUR!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, everyone!  And HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY, Tim and Susan!  WOW!  We had a lot to celebrate today!

First thing on the agenda was attending mass at a beautiful gothic style, medieval, ANCIENT John’s Lane Church.

The church had TEN confessionals!  We were left wondering…WHY?  What really goes on in those pubs every night? 😂

We ate lunch at The Brazen Head, the oldest pub in Ireland!  Oh, what a find!  The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was AMAZING!

The kids at the table beside us ordered the fish and chips—the size of the fish was unbelievable!

We caught a glimpse of a Guinness truck—wow, they are something else!

The next stop was the Dublin Castle and the Chester Beatty Library.  We opted not to tour the castle because it didn’t really look like a castle. (Or so we thought.)  We did stop and watch a film about Chester Beatty, which gave us an understanding of how he lived his life, traveling and collecting.  Pretty amazing man!

Once we walked around, we started to see that it actually was a cool castle!

What we really loved were the beautiful, lush garden areas.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a trip to a Hard Rock Cafe for John’s customary t-shirt purchase!

We walked to Trinity College, home of the Book of Kells.

The college was actually in one large building with several courtyards inside.  The campus was filled with tourists—we didn’t see one student!  The Book of Kells was sold out for the day, so we began our walk home…and heard this!  Only in Ireland!

Dinner tonight was at Ryleigh’s Rooftop Steakhouse, known at the most romantic restaurant in Dublin.  After all, we had a FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY to celebrate!  Once again, the food was fabulous and our waiter was amazing!

CONGRATULATIONS, Tim and Susan!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
And Happy Mother’s Day, Chloe, you are THE BEST!  Thank you so much for making me a DiDi!
