Good Morning from Dublin, Ireland! We all slept soooo good last night!
John and Tim were up early, as they were meeting up with some guys John wanted Tim to meet. It was about that four letter word that is no longer in our vocabulary: WORK! 😳 But, of course, it does slip in every now and again! The boys left to go tour a door manufacturing plant, while Susan and I opted to spend our day at the Dublin Zoo!
We grabbed an Uber-Taxi (if you use the Uber app over here, you will get a car with a taxi sign on the roof and “Uber” written on the side) and were lucky enough to have an excellent driver that we both could somewhat understand! He shared lots of great information with us, the most important being…never wait for an Uber-Taxi on a corner. 🤓

The Dublin Zoo was AMAZING! It was clean, with lots of gorgeous, GREEN, and lush landscaping. The animals were lively and happy! But the thing that Susan and I relished, was the fact that there were so many Dads there, with their children. Dublin can certainly boast that it has many really good Dad’s out there—they were engaging, and seemed to really enjoy teaching their kiddos about each of the animals. Better yet, we were surrounded with that Irish accent that made it seem like everyone was speaking a different language! The people were so friendly and were ready to talk about their darling children with us! And, somehow, they just knew that Susan and I were grandma’s from America!

Back at the villa, Susan and I relaxed in our beautiful courtyard, soaking up some sunshine, while Tim and John grabbed a late lunch (and a few too many Guinnesses!) at a local pub. It seems they met up with their new best friend there, a local guy named Richie, who generously kept ordering “another Guinness, please” for them! Needless to say, they were in great spirits when they arrived back at the ranch! All in all, the four of us enjoyed our day immensely!
We walked the streets of Dublin in search of our dinner destination, The Green Hen. It was AMAZING! The streets were filled with locals having a great time!
We made a quick stop at the local pub where John and Tim spent much of their afternoon, a place called Toner’s. It was jammed pack with locals enjoying their Friday night!
Dinner at The Green Hen was nothing short of delightful! Our waiter, Dragan, was wonderful and the Guinness, the wine, and every morsel of food was divine!
After dinner, we attempted to stop at O’Donaghues Bar, a highly recommended pub where just about anyone can get up and play music! However, we quickly learned that it was highly recommended for good reason, as there was not an available seat in the place! Oh, but how lively it was to simply walk through!
All in all it was a very good day, but it ended early as our beds were calling our names!
What’s the weather like this time of year over there? What’s the time difference-does every thing smell of green grass or just regular city?
ReplyDeleteCold! I think it was a 5 hour difference! It smells FRESH!
DeleteAwesome! Looks like weather might be getting better for you! What a fun day! You are getting use to the accent! 🤣
ReplyDeleteYes! Once the sun comes out it gets much warmer! The accent—it really depends on the person. There are still some people that I don’t understand a word! 😂
DeleteI loved the part of Irish dads out with their children!!! The zoo, food and pubs sound good, too🤗
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it was amazing to see all the Dad’s out with their kids! Everyone we meet can be described as “jolly”!
ReplyDeleteThe food looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt was as amazing as it looked! 😂
