We all got checked out of our Basel accommodations and headed to our boat, the Viking Mani!
There was a Basel City Tour that Viking offered and we jumped on it! Because of our daily train trips, we really hadn’t seen that much of Basel! It certainly did not disappoint!
I tested the waters—chilly but TOTALLY doable! This is on Yvonne’s and my list to do for next time, for sure! (Reminder: pack a bathing suit!)
We enjoyed a drink in the lounge (or two or three) and the piano music! CHEERS!
We met our executive chef, Karl Heinz Zewanzleitner, who promised us excellent cuisine and a lot of laughs!
Our cocktail waitress, Cheri (Tomato), told us that there were five coveted tables (that a lot of people don’t know about) at the front of the ship that weren’t in the main dining room. So, after we mustered,
we headed straight to one of those coveted tables! We got one and enjoyed a delicious first meal on the Mani with views to die for! The food—YUM!! The wine—YUM!
We could already tell—this was going to be an AMAZING cruise! Next stop: BREISACH, GERMANY!!!

Yay! The CRUISE! Plm
