COLOGNE, GERMANY

We woke up to overcast skies, drizzle and no sunshine!  (We really cannot complain as we have had PERFECT WEATHER up until now!)  Yvonne, John and I took the walking tour of Cologne, Germany!

John and I have been to Cologne several times (actually, John has been many times), however, we have never had the opportunity to walk across the bridge.  Today we had that opportunity!

And look what we found!!!  Who knew?  Thousands of locks were hung on both sides of the bridge—what a sight!

The Cologne Cathedral was looming overhead everywhere we walked!

Our guide told us the cleaning and reconstruction of the cathedral takes place 365 days of the year.  A daunting job, to be sure!

We met up with Jackie Diedam, a cousin from Brazil who now resides in Düsseldorf.  Jackie road the train to Cologne so we could spend some time together.  It was AMAZING to see her again! 🥰🥰🥰  (Love you, Jackie!)

It was a wonderful day (the weather actually improved quite a bit) and we enjoyed a memorable evening in the lounge dancing and singing and drinking (John may have had one too many!!!!) to some delightful music!  (Did I mention that John may have had one too many? 😂)
