We woke up this morning docked in Speyer, Germany! Yvonne, John and I signed up for the Speyer Walking Tour while Gary opted for the sitting in a lounge chair reading a book tour!
All of our tour guides thus far have been great, however, today we had Alfred who was absolutely hysterical and ohhh sooo good!
The cathedral in Speyer was majestic and the grounds around it were beautiful.
This was our first glimpse of Speyer.
I asked Yvonne to look holy when I took her picture…apparently, this is as holy as it gets! ๐๐๐
Here’s what sailing down the Rhine River on a Viking River Cruise looks like! (Minus hundreds of castles and cathedrals, etc. etc. etc.! No worries, Yvonne took pictures of each and every one of them!)
We took a train ride into Rรผdesheim for a traditional German dinner and music. Once inside this little town, it was magical!
We couldn’t believe it when the band played this song! It was a favorite of John’s that his Mom, Joanne, would play for him!
We ate German, we drank German and we danced German! (And Yvonne had shots of German!). But the band played a LOT of good ‘ol American music as well! It was an AMAZINGLY fun evening!
All good things must come to an end! We walked through this darling town back to our train and back to the Viking Mani! Oh, what a day!
Tomorrow’s port: KOBLENZ, GERMANY!

The YMCA!!!๐๐๐ oh my gosh moms music! She is hanging out with you!! Thx for taking all of us along-including her๐
