LIECHTENSTEIN!

We three Amigos, (John, Jani, and Yvonne), hopped on a train this morning for a two hour ride to Sargans, Switzerland.

Once there, we took an 12 minute bus ride to Balzers, Liechtenstein.  “Why Liechtenstein?” you might ask.  Because it’s a new country for all three of us!  Here’s proof we were there!

A castle was sitting high above the village, so John used Google Maps to get a walking route up to it!  We learned it was Berg Gutenberg, a mere four minute stroll.

This is the route that Google came up!  The pathway ended up being a steep vertical climb!!!  ðŸ˜³ðŸ˜³ðŸ˜³

But it was a beautiful walk, and after several pit stops to gather our breath,

and after passing lovely grape vines,

we made it!  Whew!  What an accomplishment!

In the distance we saw another castle, however, we all agreed that one vertical climb a day was enough!

The castle was locked so we didn’t get a chance to peak inside.  But the walk down was delightful!

We found a charming restaurant, where we got a table in the grass under the coolest trees.  The food was over-the-top delicious and beautiful!  The waitress told us it was traditional Swiss with a flair!

This was vegetable lasagna—it was a work of art!

By the time we got back to….

it was nearing dinner time.  We left Gary in charge of finding a good restaurant for dinner.  He picked a top rated seafood place and we all began the journey to get to it.  Lo and behold, it appeared to be in a mall!  What?

We found an amazing bar in said mall and proceeded to have drinks and ponder another restaurant!  The bartender told us the fish at this restaurant was top rated, so we decided to pick up our food, eat it, and return to the bar.

Once we started walking around, we discovered it was like an international food court!  John and I opted for Vietnamese Street Food and Gary and Yvonne decided on Australian cuisine!  Not quite the atmosphere we had anticipated for our last night in Basil, however, the food was AMAZING and it certainly gave us all a good laugh!

We Ubered it back to the area where we are staying and found the perfect place to enjoy yet another drink to end another great day!
